The Lion Sleeps Tonight

A-weema-weh, a-weema-weh, a-weema-weh, a-weema-weh
A-weema-weh, a-weema-weh, a-weema-weh, a-weema-weh
A-weema-weh, a-weema-weh, a-weema-weh, a-weema-weh
A-weema-weh, a-weema-weh, a-weema-weh, a-weema-weh

In the jungle, the mighty jungle
The lion sleeps tonight
In the jungle the quiet jungle
The lion sleeps tonight

This song is such an ear worm, but I kid you not it applies to my post.  Well, sort of!

Have you ever sat and wondered about bloggers?  Like what kind of person they present themselves to be on their blog is only a portion of what they are in real life, but it is that mere glimpse into his or her life that typically intrigues us to keep reading.  Maybe that person is close to your age or seems to have likes that correlate with yours.  Or maybe their personality resonates with you.  Whatever the reason, I find that we can truly learn so much from what that person shares on his or her blog posts.
That being said, I also think it’s fun to imagine other bloggers in the realm of what kind of animal each one is….I know quirky, but such an interesting concept.  So in the spirit of fun, I ask you to guess what I’m going to call my spirit animal.  What do you think I am really like in real day to day life. Also, explain what characteristics of the chosen animal you think I share with them because
that's just part of the fun.  If you are feeling so inclined, share what you to believe Hoss to be as well.
When I have heard from enough of my readers I will share what I believe my spirit animal to be with all of you.  Bloggers, anyone care to join me?  Put up your own post inviting your readers to guess your inner spirit animal.  Solet’s let out a roar or a mousey squeak and share what kind of animal do you think I am?

So get to posting and have a great weekend everyone!

  1. This took a lot of thinking and research before I could come up with an answer that I believe suits your personalities. Now, I may have been subliminally messaged by your first picture but Lion and Lioness were top on my list. Hoss, King of the Jungle. You, managing the lair and cubs while he's at work. However, if you could be different species, Eric and I agree that Hoss would be a gray wolf - the alpha male, protective of the family, mates for life. You, Baker, a prairie vole. Also mates for life, sticks to convictions, devoted wife and parent, spends free time with family. What do you think? Were we close?
Amy with a little input from Eric :)

  2. I love your description of both of us,thank you, my friend. I would say Hoss does act like both a lion and a wolf, but oh, how I wish, sometimes at least, he had a mane! I can imagine him shaking it in frustration at his sweet little lioness.

  3. I often consider what someone is like in real life. To me it is fascinating what we share on our blogs and what our day to day life really is like.... I learn a great deal reading!
Spirit animal? I need to think on that!
    Great idea!

    1. Thanks, Minelle, I agree, it is so interesting what we can learn about our fellow bloggers by reading. It's all good about the spirit animals. I appreciate you at least saying you had to think about it. It's apparently alot harder than I thought it would be.

  4. I wonder about fellow bloggers all the time... but I don't really see people as things. I'm just not that visual. I go more by the feeling I get from their words. Not even so much by what they say, but by how they say it.
So I really can't play along, but I know how frustrating it is when you toss out this kind of a question and all you get is crickets, so I wanted to pop in and say I think it's a very cool question to consider.
I just, you know, have no answer... ;-)

    1. No worries about not playing along, Jz. I'm happy you at least said hello even if you don't exactly have an answer per se to contribute. I'm just glad you're here and you commented.

  5. Hi Baker,

This is a fun question. I too often wonder about blog friends. It's funny the picture we paint of people in our minds.

Hmm, this is hard to answer. I love Amy's pics. Lion and Lioness came to my mind too. I also see you as Mama Bear, caring for and protective of her brood.

    Hugs

    1. Hey, Roz, it is funny the pics we paint in our own heads. I often what in the world you all think of me that's why I love everyone's input. It's fun!

I can see myself as a momma bear. I am fiercely protective of my kiddos. Hoss and the kids are my everything after God, of course. I'm so happy you played along!

  6. So funny Baker...was just getting ready to guess y'all as Papa and Mama Bear when I read your response to Roz. I can see Hoss as cuddly Papa Bear until he needs to roar and then of course, you are definitely Mama Bear...ready to defend all your babies.

    Hugs and Blessings...Cat

    1. Thanks, Cat! I so appreciate your input. I can see exactly what you are saying. I definitely fell into fierce momma bear🐻 today for one of my Cubs, even had on my momma bear shirt to fit the part! Thanks again for playing along.

  7. This is good Baker, very clever. Took a bit of thinking for me to decide. I wish I could add photos to describe you both, so you'll just have to imagine it, OK?
I picture Hoss as a gorilla, standing upright beating his chest to announce he is the king of his domain. He is very proud and protective, he wouldn't allow anyone to hurt his family.
Now you Baker I picture as an alpaca. You also are very protective of your family standing amongst your flock making sure they are all cared for and no one hurts them. You are a softy cuddly animal but a toughy, which everyone loves.
So how do you see Bear and I?
    Hugs Lindy xx

  8. Awww! I love this idea, Lindy, I must have him try pounding his chest and bellowing! I definitely am fluffy, as well as protective.

Bear is a...bear...protective and cuddly at the same time. You are a sweet lamb, gentle and kind.
